Acosta Group’s Rotational Program Opens Doors for Future Leaders
ORBIT Broadens Horizons, Builds Connections, and Accelerates Careers
The most rewarding careers aren’t always linear — they’re build through exploration, curiosity, and growth. That’s why we created ORBIT (Organizational Rotation Broadening Insights and Talent): an immersive experience that helps current associates broaden their knowledge and uncover new pathways for leadership at Acosta Group.
Over ten months, participants gain an insider’s view of teams outside of their current roles. Associates rotate through multiple areas of the business — diving into everything from sales strategy and retail execution to corporate communications, technology transformation, and finance.
Each rotation offers exposure to a different part of the enterprise, giving participants a rare opportunity to see how all the pieces work end-to-end.
Why Career Discovery Matters
ORBIT is built for associates who want a career that evolves with their interests. By experiencing new functions, participants discover where they can make the greatest impact.
And the results speak for themselves:
- 35% of participants earned promotions during the program
- 20% transitioned into roles better aligned with their interests
Behind these numbers are real stories of associates who took a leap into the unfamiliar and uncovered new strengths along the way. ORBIT alumni consistently describe the program as a turning point that expanded their skills, clarified their goals, and opened doors they didn’t even know existed.
Here’s what a few recent participants had to say:

“The rotational structure offered broad exposure to multiple business units and enabled me to build lasting relationships with key partners across the enterprise.”
Josh Waller, Sr. Director, Multimedia

“Working across functions now feels less like a handoff and more like co-creation built on trust. The program challenged me to lead with curiosity, ask sharper cross-functional questions, and align to shared outcomes.”
Vicki Goizueta, Director, HR

“I loved being able to get in the field with the teams and experience firsthand the work they do. I learned some new best practices from a different lens.”
Sophia Nguyen, Senior Client Account Manager, Premium Canada

“The ongoing positive conversations with leaders solidified that there are great teams across the organization. They were interesting, dynamic, passionate, and ultimately pushed me to see what other opportunities were out there.”
Erin Cavaletto, Perishables Team Leader
The Bigger Picture
ORBIT accelerates individual careers and strengthens Acosta Group. Participants build relationships with leaders and peers they may never have crossed paths with otherwise. Through conversations, they identify operational gaps, propose and implement improvements, and gain clarity on how responsibilities connect across the enterprise.
It’s important to develop a pipeline of future leaders of the whole organization. We do that at Acosta Group by giving associates an enterprise perspective by exposing them to every function of the business. That’s Talent Chess in action.
Participants walk away knowing who to tap for insights and how decisions are made — making the organization feel more accessible, collaborative, and navigable.
By developing leaders who understand Acosta Group from every angle, we cultivate a culture defined by agility and innovation.
Participants leave the program with:
- Enterprise perspective: Understanding how retail, foodservice, digital, technology, and operations intersect
- Expanded network: Relationships with leaders across multiple business units
- Strategic mindset: Ability to think beyond a single function and drive impact at scale
These capabilities are essential.
